Abusive Store Manager

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was just shopping at the Ashburton Countdown and was treated incredibly badly by the store manager. He was rude and condescending and did not care if people shopped at his store and actually bought things.

He merely wanted to order people around and humiliate them in public. Your stores are abusive to disabled people in this respect. When we have special needs, the manager abuses people while they are shopping. He behaves like a tyrant who just wants to belittle people and make them feel insignificant while shopping in his unappealing and trashy store.

The store is a mess, dirty and falling to pieces, despite being very new. The manager is rude and humiliates customers in public. You really need to fire him. As a result of his abusive behaviour, I put back all my shopping and left.

I will never return to that or any other Countdown store because of the aggressive and horrendous attitude you and your managers exhibit towards customers. Customers should enjoy shopping, not be subject to humiliation and condescending remarks while shopping. After a long day at work, when I'm tired and hungry and need to go to the store for dinner, I will never come to your trashy, awful stores again. There are plenty of other options for dinner even in the same shopping centre.

Why go to Countdown when the manager will just rain down abuse and humiliate you in public? There is no sense of caring for customers or making the experience pleasant. Furthermore, this makes the experience ten times worse as a disabled customer. He should have to experience the world we live in where everything is harder and store managers are abusive because of your special needs.

Shame on you, Shanesh. Shame on Countdown. I am going to go to the media with my story to humiliate Shanesh as he did to me. Shame.

Shame. Shame.

It's inhuman and cruel. Shame.

Mouldy dates!

I spent a fortune, got very little, and just to add insult to injury, the dates I bought for my baking afternoon were mouldy! The best before date was not for another 4 months.

I rang to let them know—someone else had returned another mouldy packet, and these were still on the shelf a week later.

I was promised a new packet that afternoon, yet I am still waiting three days later! I won't be shopping at Woolworths again!

Promised a $30 voucher

Woolworths New Zealand - Promised a $30 voucher

I went to your Otaki shop today on a mission to spend $150 to get 2000 Boost points. When I got to the counter, I was very upset to discover that the Boost offer is only available online.

I have attached the misleading information. It was very annoying, as I had saved up to shop in-store. This is the third time I have been misled by Woolworths this year.

The first time, I was wrongly told I had won a 'Big Night In' voucher. The second time, I was not made aware that I had to press 'Boost.' Now, this.

Price Label not displayed

Hi. I went into the 3kings store today at 15:03 and bought a Beef Bolognese Ravioli(Woolworths brand) & saw a price lable of $4.10 on four of the shelves it displayed different types of pasta.

I went to the checkout & was charged $4.70. A staff member went & checked the price & says it's $4.10. I bought it & went back & checked the price and also took photos.

There was only $4.10 for fettucini pasta labels per self, however other types of pasta have been placed on each self with NO PRICE LABEL of $4.70??? Your staff are just shoving these products on the shelves & it's very misleading because there's one price & a quick look customers are misled by thinking there is no other price it must be $4.10??

I have the photos to send to you if you need them.

These criminals stole my money!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

3 packs of cigarettes were ordered and not delivered. When I requested a refund, I didn't hear from them for 5 days.

When I called and spoke to one of the managers, he basically called me a thief. He said "no other customers ever have a problem with their cigarettes being delivered but you have requested a refund for missing smokes in the past. I'm not saying you stole them, but we did an investigation and confirmed the smokes were packed and sent". They are holding over $130 from me, claiming I am a criminal who is trying to scam them and steal from them, and won't help me.

The reason we have been "flagged" for past refund requests is because THE COMPANY FAILED TO PROVIDE THE ITEMS I PAID FOR!!

This is a Woolworths problem, not MY problem!!

The audacity of this company to STEAL my money and then claim I am the thief!!! If I wanted to steal, I would have claimed a refund for WAY more items WAY more times than the few times in the past 4 years that I have claimed when they legitimately were not delivered to me!

I will be taking this matter further and will not rest until Woolworths pays the price for both their negligence and their audacity to call me the criminal.

Your customer service is poor. They have no idea why suddenly, many products are unavailable now at Woolworths.

I'm starting to wonder what is going on?I need to talk to someone at the top who is involved with product availability.

Certain brands discontinued. For example RedIsland olive oil 3L cans?Educate

Bad food

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Woolworths NZ quality of meat is frankly shocking. For eg beef mince is tasteless and gristly, even the less fat versions are horrible.

Their bread also leaves a lot to be desired.

I also purchased some of their Sourdough loaves only to find them full of holes because they cannot make the dough properly. Their prices also just keep going up.

Its about time the NZ govt did something about this companies prices and their quality of food especially given the huge profits they make.

Enough is enough.

Unhappy Customer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Hi,

I have a major issue with a particular Woolworths store in Manukau. I am firstly talking about the lack of availability of the smaller trolleys on hand. It's quite a trivial complaint, I know, but it is an ongoing problem. There are ample in the car park; just no keen employees that want to bother collecting them. On a couple of occasions, the one trolley person I did see was hanging over a trolley chatting for the entire time - from when I left my car to when I returned.

Another issue is the availability of bread. Every time, they seem to be low on bread and the bread that is available is stale.

Take a page from Pak n Save Ormiston. The produce and meat are always fresh, the bread supply is plentiful, and their trolleys are always collected, clean, and readily available for customers.

False Advertising

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Spade Oak Voysey Chardonnay is advertised at $16.00 on special. I have tried several Woolworths Supermarkets (Meadowbank, St Johns and Pakuranga) and none of them have any stock.

I was advised it had sold out. Very difficult to understand as it is still being advertised.

This is not the first time that advertised products have not been available.

Very disappointed after speaking to one Manager that no apology was given or a raincheck if it becomes available- just that it was sold out.

Very disappointed soon to be ex-customer.

Unable to add to order

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been trying to add to my order for delivery tomorrow throughout the day.

I can see that the order hasn't been picked and its saying I can add to the order but when I go through the process nothing happens.

Part of the reason I need to add to the order is there were so many o/s lines yesterday.

Resolved: Shocking service

Updated by user Jul 02, 2024

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. The money was refunded, but no apology was given, nor did they offer to deliver the missing goods. I won't shop online with them again. That's the idea of on line shopping, I'm not able to always go myself with disability issues.

Original review Jun 02, 2024
I have never come across such a shocking service as what today has been.
I am five items missing a total of over $31 this is absolutely ridiculous what is the point of shopping online when the items are not received even though it says you have received them.
The driver of the van was not interested, I managed to gave him back two packets of stuff that I had not ordered and noticed one was tomatoes in tins which I had not ordered and one was sanitary products which I have no need of.
What what a shocking service and then trying to deal with this so-called Olive and your online auto system is a nightmare , why cant you have a human being. I am just so frustrated and so angry I will never ever shop online with you again.

I just hope I get my money back . Plus I now have to go to Pak N Save and get the items that you were not delivered to me, if Id known that I would not have even bothered shopping online.
